Grayton's First Halloween

This was Grayton first Halloween. I believe this is the third year that Halloween has been rained out in Vero. We made the best of it.


Grayton figured out very early that the costume was velcro and that she could easily get out of it.

We started the night at the Kovatch's house for Sloppy Joe's. Here is Hannah, Kaitlyn and the Lady Bug

While we might have gotten rained out, Grayton enjoyed her very first piece of candy, a Tootsie Roll Pop. Apparently it takes only a few licks to get the center as Grayton ate through this in no time. (Editor's Note: Please disregard the Radio Flyer Wagon, Grayton will be receiving this for her birthday next week)

Time To Carve

After picking the perfect pumpkin, Grayton and I decided to carve it together. Amber took pictures of the event (apparently we never took a picture of the finished product, sorry)


Grayton didn't know what to make of it all.

She tried tasting one of seeds, but she didn't really like it.

Grayton decided she was going to finally stop eating on the job and give a hand.


Grayton must have heard about my work with saws, she seems nervous about getting close to the action.

Picking a Pumpkin

Amber and I took Grayton to pick her very first pumpkin. We went to a local Pumpkin Patch in Vero to find the perfect one.

So many to choose from, where do I start??

"Dad, I like this one on the right. Wait, no, I like the one on the left"

"What is this?"

All and all, a great day!

I was preparing dinner and accidently forgot that I left the freezer open for 10 seconds. That gave Grayton enough time to get to the freezer and stand up. Amber found her taking out ice cubes, tasting them, and putting them back in the freezer.

I swear it wasn't me.....

Grayton and Pap

GooMa was out of town in Orlando taking her final test for her master's (good luck) so Aunt Nicole and Pap came over for dinner.

Vero Beach Hotel and Club

Amber and I went to the Vero Beach Hotel and Club to spend our first night away from Grayton, she stayed with MeMa, Pap and Aunt Nicole. We stayed with Nikki and GT.


Apparently Paul got wind of our weekend and was having none of it. He tried to crash the night.

Lucky for me, Paul started hitting the bar early and had to be escorted home.
